Today is once again National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. It's a day where we celebrate life created in the image of God! All human life is worthy of respect. It's set aside by its Creator, for a purpose, and it should be considered extremely important and highly valued.

Since I slept through most of the Christmas season and didn't get to preach a Christmas message, I wanted to linger on that subject for one last bit this year.

Everyone knows Santa Claus can't be at every single mall or store to get pictures with children, so he has helpers who look like him, right? You can tell by maybe a fake beard or a not so jolly attitude. But how do you really know what the 'real Santa' looks like?

Last week many of us engaged in traditional Thanksgiving Day feasts. - There's the turkey and the stuffing and the rolls and the cranberry sauce and the green bean casserole and the corn casserole and the sweet potatoes and the au gratin potatoes and the mashed potatoes and the gravy and the pecan pie and the pumpkin pie... Thanksgiving...

Last year, 83% of Americans celebrated Thanksgiving and the vast majority agreed that the purpose of Thanksgiving is to 'give thanks'. Pretty obvious - it's right there in the name. But for the percentage of Americans who celebrate Thanksgiving and claim to not believe in God - I have to ask, give thanks to whom? Many don't...

This past Sunday was our 'Homecoming Sunday' - and it was a good day! We saw faces we hadn't seen in years! We celebrated in worship, we got to fellowship and eat together and reminisce. Many commented it was just a taste of the reunion we'll enjoy once we get to Heaven. But now it's just a 'regular Sunday' - so where do we go from here?...
